Beatriz Castro is a latinx, queer artist, primarily using movement as language. Born and raised in Costa Rica, Beatriz is currently based in New York City.

Beatriz graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Dance and a BA in Business from Marymount Manhattan College, where they got to perform in works by Earl Mosley, Anthony Morigerato, Chase Brock, Tami Stronach, and Sidra Bell.

Beatriz has appeared in HBO’s Random Acts of Flyness and social media campaigns by On Running x MOMA PS1, under the direction of Damani Pompey. She is a member of Spark Movement Collective and Verbal Animal, and assists with Luminous Tour.

Internationally, she has performed self-choreographed work at the Graciela Moreno Choreographers Festival, the longest-running contemporary dance event in Costa Rica. They have also presented work at Dixon Place, Triskelion Arts, The Mark O’Donnell Theater, Arts On Site, Bridge for Dance, Green Space and the NYU Choreo Seminar. Beatriz has also trained with New Dialect, NVA&Guests, the Martha Graham School, Gallim, Revés, and Axis Connect.

Beatriz is a certified hatha yoga teacher.
